Taproot Community Midwifery
COMMUNITY CENTERED MIDWIFERY CARE IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
I believe that community-centered care helps us build stronger communities. I love working with my clients to dream up new ways of thriving and growing as we move through pregnancy, birth and postpartum together.
PERSPECTIVE ON CARE
Birth is an opportunity, not just to bring new life into the world, but to give birth to a new version of ourselves.
I like helping people do hard things. The experience of being pregnant and giving birth is different for each person, but it is always a journey, no matter who you are. I love helping people discover the tools they have to help them on this journey; I love seeing the looks on people’s faces when they realize how strong they are. I like to witness people digging deep within themselves, and cheering them on as they do.
Birth is an opportunity, not just to bring new life into the world, but to give birth to a new version of ourselves. This can happen over the course of trying to get pregnant, throughout a pregnancy, during labor, at the moment of birth, or throughout the postpartum period. I have witnessed this transformation in smooth and complicated births, happy and unhappy, expected and unexpected.
I am there to help keep my client and their baby safe throughout the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. My clients and I spend a lot of time together during prenatals making sure that we are catching any issues before they become a problem. If a complication should arise, I make sure my clients have all the information they need to make an informed decision about how to proceed.
As a community midwife, my role is to help you get ready to give birth, to help you prepare for transformation in a safe environment that we build together. I am there to help my clients identify their needs and desires, and prepare for birth and postpartum. I am there to cheer them on and encourage them, to remind them of their strength when things get hard. I am there to help keep them and their baby safe throughout the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.
“Meg created a space where I felt safe and cared for at every turn. She was quick to listen to any concern I had and offer the assurance or guidance I needed when decision making. Her clinical skill also easily matched the care she provided for my soul during such a vulnerable time. I can’t imagine having a baby without Meg!”
